We welcome you to the new Aesthetic Green Power (AGP) site. AGP is the continuation of pioneering work in renewable-powered building science begun by Atlantis Energy Systems Inc. Building science has been evolving to energy conservation. We believe that many buildings can be sustainably designed and look good doing it. Renewable energy is more than solar panels - it is daylighting, solar thermal and even energy storage systems that allow off-grid security. To give our customers the best options, we have access to some of the best engineering and design universities and colleges in North America.
Our company history is like a multistage rocket. Our initial product innovations and launch origins are Swiss. Recognizing the US solar opportunity, the original company established a plant in eastern Virginia in 1996 that began serving North America. By 2001, that plant was a wholly USA owned company, Atlantis Energy Systems, Inc. In 2007 the plant was moved to Poughkeepsie, NY to make shipments and infrastructure more convenient. The company kept its consistent focus on aesthetics and building science as opposed to the industry standard of adding standard solar panels onto a building.
Aesthetic Green Power is devoted to the proposition that buildings can be designed to supply much of their own energy through renewable sources. The concept that defines are product is BIPV meaning building integrated PV. We design our products as a durable weathering skin that protects the building as well as supplies it with solar electricity and optionally thermal energy. The thermal option is defined as BITERS of building integrated thermal energy roofing systems. Our products are known to give a high priority to the look or aesthetic of the building as well whether a National Football Stadium, private residence or public space canopy.
An architect's design can express commitments to sustainability. It is true that solar can be hidden on the flat roof. However the facades, window shades, skylights and canopies all are visible to the street and the people who work in the building as well as customers. Our approach is to unleash that design as a public statement for a building that has its one sense of power and aesthetic. We make custom modules that have won awards in multiple venues, including the Pritzker prize 2005.
