It's important to have a good roof that can support a 25+ year investment. When we conduct a site-visit, we will inspect your roof and report any damage or upgrades that you may need, whether you decide to go solar or not. Most of the time, re-roofing is not required. However, if your roof is going to need replacing in the next 5-7 years, it is a good idea to get it re-roofed prior to installing solar so you don't have to pay additional labor to remove the solar system. If you have ever had leaks, or if the shingles are showing signs of wear, it may be time for a new roof.
