Make a donation, sign up to be a corporate sponsor or give your time by volunteering for us at an event. NC GreenPower provides outreach and education to any group, business or organization that has an interest in learning more about renewable energy, carbon offsets and their benefits.

Headquartered in Raleigh, NC GreenPower is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit improving our state's environment by supporting renewable energy, carbon offset projects and providing grants for solar installations at K-12 schools. Since 2003, our donors have helped to support more than 1,000 projects right here in North Carolina. NC GreenPower is supported entirely by voluntary contributions from citizens and businesses across the state. In the past, we have applied for grants to help cover our administration and marketing expenses but we depend primarily on donations to support our projects.

What is green power? Green power is electricity generated from renewable energy sources, such as the sun, wind, water, and organic matter. These resources are replenished by nature and are a cleaner source of energy. Where does our power come from today? North Carolina's power comes primarily from fossil fuels. However, only 24% of the electricity comes from coal. Around 31% comes from nuclear power, 32% comes from natural gas, and the remainder comes from hydroelectric and other renewable sources.

NC GreenPower is working hard to create positive environmental and economic impacts in North Carolina, but we need your help! For as little as $4 per month, you can help us improve our home state by making a monthly donation through your utility bill. You can also make a credit card donation through our website here. Or contribute as little as $1 to our Solar+ Schools fundraising campaign and lay the groundwork for a cleaner, brighter future for our students! NC GreenPower is an independent nonprofit improving the quality of our state's environment by supporting renewable energy, carbon offset projects and providing grants for solar installations at K-12 schools.

As a nonprofit, NC GreenPower works hard to help provide a cleaner, greener future for our communities. We continue to see growth in our program, thanks to the support of our donors and volunteers. Since 2003, our donors have helped us to support more than 1,020 renewable energy and greenhouse gas mitigation projects in North Carolina. NC GreenPower passes contributions to secure either renewable energy generation or carbon offset mitigation. We are dedicated to providing benefits to all 100 North Carolina counties by creating opportunities for renewable energy and carbon offset producers.
