SustainFloyd

A virtual event that focuses on current strategies for energy conservation, environmental protection and simple living. Attendees will gain access to information through real time presentations and interviews online, webinars, product exhibits and stories from practitioners from the Blue Ridge area. SustainFloyd is a rural nonprofit in the Blue Ridge Mountains that undertakes projects to support the environment, agriculture, renewable energy and community well-being. Supporting the growth of our community's next generation requires a community commitment, which is why we work closely with local and state governments and agencies, local businesses, like-minded non-profits and local citizens.

Jackie is co-owner, with her husband, Woody, of Riverstone Organic Farm, a local farm specializing in organic vegetables and pasture raised meats. She also co-owns a yarn store in Floyd. Prior to this she was active, with Woody, in restoring and managing The Floyd Country Store and running Crenshaw Lighting. She has been a long-time advocate of environmental stewardship, teaching environmental studies and serving with conservation and community development organizations. She lives with Woody in a passive solar cabin near the Blue Ridge Parkway where she delights in tending her flower garden.

SustainFloyd is a rural nonprofit in the Blue Ridge Mountains that undertakes projects to support the environment, agriculture, renewable energy and community well being. We aim to bring together individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, and governmental and non-governmental agencies to find ways collectively to develop the ecological and financial health of our community for the well-being of all. We maintain active, creative relationships with communities globally and most actively along the Blue Ridge Plateau and the New River Valley regions of Appalachian Virginia.
