Georgia's first renewable energy program, Green Power EMC, provides electricity through its 38 member EMCs (Electric Membership Corporations). A nonprofit corporation, Green Power EMC uses green resources such as low-impact hydroelectric plants, biomass, landfill gas, and solar to generate electricity. Green Power EMC Members' renewable energy projects total approximately 503 megawatts (MW) of capacity. Touchstone Energy Cooperatives is a national network of electric cooperatives across 46 states that provides resources and leverages partnerships to help member cooperatives and their employees better engage and serve their members.
