Eastern Iowa REC offers a variety of bill payment options. Pay in person, use the secure drop box at one of our four service centers, pay by phone, or use the automatic or budget billing payment plan. You can also use Smart Hub. Pay your bills quickly online using the Smart Hub bill payment option. Eastern Iowa REC members can access their account and pay their bill through SmartHub. Eastern Iowa REC is a distribution electric utility, serving the rural portions of 12 counties in eastern Iowa along the Mississippi River. Our service territory stretches from Sabula in the north, to Burlington in the south, and Iowa City to the west. Eastern Iowa REC has offices in DeWitt, Lone Tree and Wapello. Our headquarters are in Wilton, Iowa. Eastern Iowa REC provides affordable, reliable, and safe electrical service to rural customers. The Cooperative serves a diverse membership that includes traditional farm operations, rural housing areas, industrial and commercial developments, and recreational facilities.

When you start planning the construction of a new home, call Eastern Iowa REC during the planning process. We can work with you to ensure all of your electrical service needs are met. Contact an Eastern Iowa REC member service specialist to arrange for electrical service for a new home. If you are moving to an existing home and need to set up electric service, contact our billing department. One of our member service specialists will work with you to develop an electrical plan that includes rebates for heating and cooling equipment.

Eastern Iowa REC provides electrical services for new constructions and homes. If you're considering a major home renovation, we can help you, too! Once we provide you service, we will work with you to determine a billing option that works for you. A variety of rebates are also available energy efficient heating/cooling systems, appliances and lighting products! Eastern Iowa REC recognizes our service territory is a diverse and growing business community. We strive to bring new businesses and industries to our area and we work to support the growth and expansion of our existing business customers.

One of the most efficient heating and cooling systems can be found beneath your feet. An earth coupled heat pump uses the Earth's natural insulating energy to both heat and cool your space. Eastern Iowa REC offers a rebate for earth coupled heat pumps. The Iowa Geothermal Association is a non-profit Iowa trade association focused on advancing geothermal heating and cooling systems within Iowa and the Midwest. The IGA was formed in 1992 as one of the early means of educating consumers and contractors about heating and cooling using geothermal technology.

Eastern Iowa REC has a net metering tariff available for small, appropriate-sized alternate energy projects. EILP won't offer net metering with another discounted rate on the same account, for example an electric heat rate. Should a member's AEP facility become inoperable & require repair, the member should immediately notify EILP. More than 180 Eastern Iowa REC members in the Kalona area will be receiving the following phone message regarding the change out of their electric meter, "There will be a contractor for Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative in your area in the next 10 days to replace your electric meter. This could involve a brief 2 to 3 minute power outage. Disregard this message if you have no issues. Please call 800-728-1242 ext 7338 if you would like to schedule a time for this to take place.”

Eastern Iowa REC's contract tree service, Asplundh Tree Experts, LLC, will be working near DeWitt in Clinton County. The Cooperative contacted approximately 70 members by telephone with the following message, “Within the next few weeks Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative will be sending Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC to conduct tree trimming in your area. A letter has been sent explaining the tree trimming. If you have any questions please contact our Tree Trimming Department at (563)732-7364.
