CB Solar Inc. of Des Moines, IA, is owned and operated by Engineering graduates of Iowa State University. Our team has been involved with designing and installing over 550 solar energy projects totaling over 16 MW since 2013. When making the decision to invest in solar energy, CB Solar wants to be your solar partner. Tyler has over ten years of experience in manufacturing and renewable energy. He started his career with a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University in Industrial Engineering. His education and experience in the manufacturing world led him to start CB Solar Inc. Tyler got his start in renewable energy by designing custom electronics and writing software for the control of inverter based energy systems.

CB Solar Inc has done countless hog buildings in Iowa. This hog confinement has a 20.4kW array to offset the usage of multiple buildings. With limitless roof space and consistently high power consumption, hog operations are ideal candidates for solar energy. Shown here is a beautiful farmhouse in Southeast Iowa. To offset the usage of grain drying bins, this array was installed on a 100 year old shed. The customer purchased an additional ground install to cover the rest of their usage, a year after this array paid for itself.

This 4.2kW system combined with a wood burning stove led to our first net-zero home. The high-tech look of the panels give a sharp contrast to this log home on the Lake Panorama National Golf Course.
