Beyond our traditional giving programs, we collaborate with like-minded organizations to strengthen local communities. Together, we are moving Arizona forward. Along with the Arizona Diamondbacks, we provide new and updated field equipment, including lights, scoreboards, fencing, grass and irrigation systems. They are adopting new technologies and want to know how to manage their energy use to best fit their lifestyle. Our Customer Technology programs connect customers with advanced technologies. At the same time, the programs help us learn about how customers interact with these technologies and how they can help harness the abundance of midday solar energy already on our grid. We established APS Solar Communities in concert with regulators and community stakeholders during the 2017 rate case settlement.
Besides reliably delivering energy to our customers every day, we must look at the big picture that shapes Arizona's energy future. We plan years in advance to ensure that customers have clean, reliable and affordable energy to meet their needs. We publicly detail our roadmap to the future with an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). This plan forecasts how we will serve Arizona's energy needs for the next 15 years. The IRP addresses our steps to integrate growing renewable resources and advanced technologies, secure cleaner energy resources and manage environmental impacts.
