Our mechanical team offers extensive experience in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design, and building analysis for new and existing facilities. This experience allows us to figure out the right balance of energy efficiency and cost effectiveness to suit every project. We utilize the latest building modeling software for providing detailed load analysis, life cycle analysis and energy modeling.

Harriman makes use of their engineering services and applied technologies to be able to design systems that can communicate and relate differing building systems together and to track trends that allow adjustments to be made from a central building or campus automation center. We have a proven track record in designing energy management systems with direct digital controls that provide cost-efficient operation and the means for tracking energy data. We have completed renovations that expanded existing systems, designed new systems that interface with existing systems, and designed all new systems for both new buildings and existing facilities.

Harriman's Structural Engineering team offers extensive experience in the evaluation and design of a variety of types of structures and structural systems, whether existing or new. We tailor our creative solutions to every client and we invest in state of the art structural design software and building information modeling (BIM) software to ensure accuracy and constructability. Harriman's urban design and planning studio (formerly The Cecil Group) has a rich history of working on municipal projects in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Interior Design is much more than the selection of colors, fabrics and finishes. It is the development of programming needs based upon client interviews, the creation of multiple test fits to verify the program requirements and working with architects and engineers to ensure that building systems are integrated into the plan. We are part of a comprehensive team of professionals helping our clients achieve their visions. Our interior designers can help you with space planning, materials selection, furnishings selection and procurement, artwork selection, soft goods, signage/graphics, and interiors master planning.

Harriman's commitment to sustainable design is not only evident with the buildings that we design. We are also committed to reducing the use of fossil fuels by complying with the guidelines of the 2030 Challenge; and to reducing our energy consumption by documenting our energy reduction strategies and results with the American Institute of Architect's 2030 Commitment. The incorporation of sustainable strategies has been a hallmark of Harriman's practice long before LEED or other incentive scoring systems were in existence.
