For more than 35 years, TSI Energy Solutions has provided energy audits and commercial inspections using the most advanced technologies. We help build safer, more comfortable, and higher efficiency buildings. Infrared electrical scans, infrared roof moisture surveys, thermoscans, energy efficiency inspections, moisture investigations, water leak detection (per ASTM E331, ASTM E1105 and AAMA 501.2), air chamber testing (per ASTM E1186 and ASTM E783), mock-up wall testing (per ASTM E2357), holistic building diagnostics testing, and air barrier testing (per ASTM E1827 and E779).

TSI was formed in 1980 by the original owners Phil McMullan, Bill Achenbach, Chris Maher and David Smith, then Jim Williamson joined the company as an owner in the mid 1980s. TSI was one of the first companies in the country to use infrared technology as a major source of revenue as we used thermal cameras to assess energy loss in government and private buildings as part of our thermal imaging energy audit protocol. We were also one of the first companies to use blower doors and duct blasters to identify air leaks in homes, commercial buildings and ductwork systems.

Underground water leaks can wreak havoc on both homes and commercial buildings. They can lead to flooding in lower levels, ground flooding, damage to building structures, and compromised foundations. But, detecting these leaks can be difficult. While it might be tempting to start digging where you see water bubbling to the surface, it isn't the best solution. Water often surfaces in a different spot than the leak site. TSI's experts use infrared thermography, ultrasound, helium detection, and correlator technology as accurate underground water detectors to identify water leaks and slab leaks.

As a homeowner, you want your home to be as energy-efficient as possible. Aside from the benefits an energy efficient home has on the environment, an energy efficient home is also great for your expenses. At TSI Energy Solutions, we're committed to helping you make your home more energy efficient. Our unbiased, third-party inspections are designed for both new and existing homes and can be customized to your individual home. Our ThermoShield Program is perfect for homeowners. The program combines energy efficiency inspections, a comprehensive air sealing package before and after drywall, air and duct leakage testing, infrared scanning, and several other energy improvement measures.

The purpose of the ASTM E2128 is to determine the cause of water leakage in exterior curtain walls of a building. Unlike other testing methods, ASTM E2128 is a systematic approach that evaluates wall leaks. By using a sequence of testing methods and activities, ASTM E2128 testing provides an accumulation of information in an orderly and efficient manner. Each step of the process is intended to enhance and supplement the information collected in the previous step, which results in a much more holistic approach to water leakage testing.

What's new?

Looking forward to hearing Joe Lstiburek, Ph.D., P.Eng., ASHRAE Fellow talk about not doing stupid things in building science this Thursday. Please join us and BEC Indiana for this online presentation.
