The cost of Phase One of the renovation was quoted at $30,000; however, due to volunteer labor, we were able to reduce that by nearly half. Phase One of the project was paid off in Summer 2018. As a result of the project, the pool water is consistently cleaner and clearer! This second phase of the project involved resurfacing the main pool (sandblasting to remove layers and layers of paint — completed in November 2018) and addressing underlying concrete structural issues not fixed by our temporary repairs in Phase One.
The pool's official birthday is July 4, 1956, but the official start date for the Robin Hill Recreation Association is Feb. 12, 1956.
