The City of St. Paul provides retail electric service to the St. Paul community. Power is provided by two separate distribution substations, which are connected to Howard Greeley Rural Public Power District‘s subtransmission system at 34.5 kV. This looped system is connected to NPPD‘s statewide transmission system. The primary distribution system in St. Paul is 12.5 kV (10 MVA) with looped feeds to allow redundant service. The electric rates for the City consist of a base rate of $9.25 plus a tiered rate structure for additional kilowatt hours.

What's new?

Rotating Power Outages could occur in the area due to high energy consumption and peak demands. This is occurring throughout the State. We have no control on when or where they may occur. Be prepared to keep warm during these outages and conserve energy as possible. Thank you Mayor Bergman and Emergency Manager Tubbs.

City of St Paul Employees have been out working hard trying to clear the snow and stay ahead of the weather. Please help them out by keeping the streets cleared of vehicles and do not push your snow into the streets after they have been cleared. Thank you
