When you request a free estimate on your driveway, an estimator will contact you to set up an appointment. When meeting with the estimator you should explain exactly what product you are interested in concrete asphalt or pavers. The estimator will make a rough sketch and take all necessary notes and measurements. If you are not sure about something that has to do with your project, don't be afraid to ask our us questions. Our estimator will take the time to provide you with any necessary information, and answer all questions about your home improvement project.

The goal of this page is to give you, the consumer, some guidelines when selecting a Home Improvement Contractor. The Maryland Home Improvement Commission, MHIC, governs home improvement contractors in the state of Maryland. The MHIC documents all reported disputes between a contractor and homeowners. Please note that the Maryland Home Improvement Commission must license only contractors doing home improvements. Contractors who only work on commercial projects are not required to have a MHIC license.

F&M Contractors is a residential contractor specializing in concrete driveway replacement and asphalt driveway replacement, resurfacing and maintenance. We also offer a variety of stone and brick products such as patios and sidewalks. We pour newly replaced concrete driveways at 5″ thick using a 4000 PSI (6.5 bag) mix. New asphalt driveways are 3″ rolled to 2 1/2″. Resurfaced asphalt driveways are 2″ rolled to 1 1/2″. We call MS.UTILITY prior to the start of a job if it states "Call MS.Utility" on your contract, not all jobs require this.

Depending on your current driveway situation, new asphalt can be laid over the existing asphalt paving. When an overlay is the best solution for your home, we will cut out any necessary areas and then lay a coat of new asphalt over these areas before laying the final layer. If your driveway can not be overlaid, then we will replace your existing asphalt driveway by excavating the old asphalt material, grading and compacting a new sub-base, and placing new asphalt.

Melanie earned her master's degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA) from Morgan State University, graduating with honors and was awarded the American Society of Landscape Architects Maryland Chapter Student Merit Award for her innovative work specializing in native plants and rainwater management. She is passionate about creating spaces that connect people to nature and provide areas of relaxation and respite.
