We focus on what's best for the group, and only when the group is successful, can we reward individuals. My Grandfather, Paul, and Father, Sam, taught us how to work hard, and work smart. There is simply no replacement for hard work. Our business is very equipment intensive, with plants, trucks, dozers, loaders, and pavers.
Grannas Bros. was started by brothers Paul (Sam's father) and Chester Grannas in 1957. The brothers began working together in the late 30's, when they went to a junkyard and bought a truck to deliver coal. They worked at a coal strip mine, and they fixed up the former junker to drive to work. They would haul a load of coal home each evening, and would hand shovel the coal off into basements of homes in Williamsburg, where they both resided. Paul was fond of saying he didn't see his house in the daylight the first several years he was married.
We are a Penn DOT certified concrete materials provider, and carry all state class concrete mixtures. We also offer custom mixes as well as the most common residential and commercial mix strengths. Grannas Bros. uses highway-class paving machines that produce a superior finish asphalt surface. We use the same quality equipment on driveways and parking lots that we use on million dollar highway jobs. We also compact the asphalt with vibratory rollers weighing between 5 and 10 tons. All of our aggregates and asphalt products are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. We have over 40 years experience paving driveways, parking lots, city streets, and state highways. Over that period we have enjoyed an outstanding reputation for performing quality work.
