The Alliance's mission is to establish asphalt pavement as the preferred choice for quality, performance, and the environment. The APA will accomplish this through research, technology transfer, engineering, education, and innovation. Asphalt is flexible, adaptable, versatile, customizable, and ready to meet just about every pavement need. With the option of nighttime construction and without the lengthy curing time typical of concrete, asphalt pavements offer the flexibility needed to handle all levels of traffic, and they can be maintained or repaired quickly.
The Asphalt Pavement Alliance (APA) is a partnership among the Asphalt Institute (AI), the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), and the State Asphalt Pavement Associations (SAPAs). The Alliance's goal is to safeguard the longevity and growth of the asphalt pavement industry's mobility solutions. This is accomplished by bringing technical and marketing resources into effective action by engaging and educating pavement stakeholders and assisting AI, NAPA, and SAPA members in strengthening connections and influence with decision-makers and customers.
The APA Advisory Council is responsible for guiding the Asphalt Pavement Association's vision. The Council is a balanced board with equal representation (2 representatives) among the 3 Core Partners with the AI President, NAPA President & CEO, and SAPA Chair serving as ex-officio officers.
