Arkadelphia Street Department

The City of Arkadelphia Staff, Boards/Committee Members, are citizens of Arkadelphia or the surrounding area and committed public servants that provide the citizens of our community with an exceptional quality of life. The City of Arkadelphia is made up of ten departments including; Administration, Airport, Animal Control, Building Department, Fire Department, Parks and Recreation, Police Department, Sanitation Department, Street Department, and Water Department. All of which serve the citizens of Arkadelphia, while various departments provide services outside of the city limits.

Our Animal Control Department is staffed by one Animal Control Officer, who is under the direction of the Sanitation Superintendent. The Animal Control Officer is responsible for catching animals running at large in the city and dealing with nuisance animals (raccoons, opossums, etc.) in the interest of public safety. The Animal Control Officer also cares for, and adopts out unclaimed and surrendered dogs in the care of the city after a holding period of 6 days. The Animal Control Department works with Arkadelphia Police when citations need to be issued for reoccurring violations, but we are more interested in solving problems the first time with communication rather than fines.
