Allied Blacktop Co. started as a small family business in 1954, paving and patching driveways. Today we have more than 70 employees and serve customers across Minnesota and the country. Chip sealcoating (also known as hot oil or rock seal coating) extends the life of your asphalt with an extremely durable layer of hot oil combined with loose rock/chips. Chip sealcoating is the primary application endorsed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. A chip seal gives you a pristine, tough new wear surface that also enhances skid resistance. Proper chip sealcoating applications and programs are proven to double or triple the life of the asphalt roads and surfaces. Allied recommends that chip sealing should be administered on a four to seven year scheduled asphalt maintenance cycle.

Adding a protective sealcoat improves appearance, protects from water and oxidation and gives you a smooth surface for safety and easy cleaning. Sealcoating can range from hot sealcoating (adding a hot emulsified layer of asphalt), to spraying a coal/tar mixture that rejuvenates surfaces as it protects. Allied is one of the few companies with the technology to offer hot sealcoating. Sealcoating is an interim step that you can take if your asphalt doesn't need an overlay/resurfacing but needs to be strengthened.

Professional asphalt repair and rehabilitation lets you catch small problems early and double or even triple the life of your blacktop. All our patching processes, including mill and patch, skin patch, and remove and replace procedures are endorsed by the Minneapolis Minnesota Department of Transportation.
