Sam and Son Company was established in 1991 as a first-generation company primarily in the business of sandblasting, welding and fabrication. Maintaining a high level of diversity throughout the years has allowed us to expand our fleet of equipment and grow into a preferred site/civil contractor through New York State. Includes site clearing, foundation preparation, rough grading, final grading, installation of site drainage and access drives. From stripping topsoil to bringing site to final grade, we will perform the required civil work from beginning to end in order to achieve project completion on time with complete satisfaction. We provide at and below grade concrete structures ranging from small concrete sidewalks to drilled pier foundations, footers, piers, duct banks and exterior walls. Our work consists of the highest standards for concrete, steel reinforcement, formwork, concrete placement, curing, and finishing.
Project was based in West Seneca, NY. It is an expansion project at the existing National Grid substation. Our scope of work included preparing the site expansion area, installing 288 concrete structures including drilled pier foundations and equipment pads, installing ground grid and duct bank throughout new area, demo and remove existing structures, installing stone and compacting in levels to achieve desired compaction. Final yard stone installed along with adding wetland mitigation ponds.
Project was located in Fairport, NY. Consisted of removing and replacing an existing switchgear pad, installing 8 pier foundations, installing large concrete pad for 3 switchgear assemblies, concrete steps and sidewalk. All concrete and rebar was furnished and installed by us in addition to site preparation and final stoning. The Fairport Municipal Commission recently contracted with Sam & Son to do foundation work at one of our electrical substations in preparation for the installation of new 115kv breakers, transformers and switchgear within an energized switchyard.
This project was based in Fredonia NY and was a greenfield project. Our work involved existing site cut/fill, installation of 76 drilled pier cassions, installation of 750 ft of cable trench, installation of 7000 LF of ground grid, installation of all site and perimeter drainage, final yard stone and perimeter grading. This project was completed in full compliance with Article 7.
