Castor Materials was founded in 2004 as a dry-batch plant on Castor Avenue in Philadelphia. Over two decades, we have expanded to operate three plants and two locations in Philadelphia County, serving commercial and residential developments across the Delaware Valley. Our fleet includes 48 front discharge mixers capable of supplying 400 cubic yards of concrete hourly, making us the only company in Philadelphia to utilize all three pozzolanic materials: concrete, slag, and fly ash. Our family-owned business was established by a contractor to meet the supply-mix needs of fellow contractors, combining industry expertise with personalized service. We maintain rigorous quality control through our in-house laboratory, where ACI-certified technicians conduct daily testing to ensure every batch meets engineering specifications. Our commitment to excellence has enabled us to supply concrete for landmark projects like the Comcast Technology Center and Walt Whitman Bridge toll plaza.

We serve both private and government-funded projects, offering 24/7 delivery services to accommodate urgent construction demands. Our small mixers navigate urban environments and weight-restricted areas, while job-site coordinators ensure seamless project execution. With a focus on innovation, we pioneered the use of Hydration Control mixers during heat waves and implemented MACRO-FIBER technology to eliminate rebar reinforcement in large-scale pours. Our dedication to sustainability is demonstrated through recycled concrete aggregate solutions and membership in the U.S. Green Building Council.
