Company Founder and President, Lowell Johnson has been in the construction business since 1975. Beginning as a municipal sewer & water utility contractor, Dakota Underground Company has expanded into earth moving, grading, concrete paving, curb & gutter, concrete structures, and water transmission pipelines in the tri-state area.
Dakota Underground takes great pride in our paving operations and our work proves this. These superior pavements are designed to last 25 to 30 years in the most diverse climate conditions. With more concerns rising about environmental issues the focus is shifting towards the green movement. Concrete pavement is being considered a green practice for several reasons, one being the reduction in green house gas emissions from production compared to a hot mix asphalt. Besides being environmentally friendly, concrete paving is also more cost effective in the long term solution for road construction.
