Slab sawing, also called flat sawing, is most commonly used to cut horizontal concrete slab surfaces such as piers, wharves, bridges, runways, roads and floors. This diamond cutting method uses a diamond blade that is mounted on a walk-behind machine requiring only one operator. Slab saws can cut up to 36 inches in depth and are typically used to provide expansion joints, remove damaged pavement sections, clean expansion joints, clean and prepare random cracks for repair and remove concrete sections for demolition purposes.
