Since 1989, BDI has been the premier provider of diagnostic testing, monitoring, and nondestructive evaluation services around the world. We have achieved this status by relying on the professional experience and constant advancement of our approximately 60 employees with expertise that ranges from civil/structural engineering, data analysis, electrical engineering, instrument development, and safety. We also design and manufacture high-quality data acquisition systems and sensors for quantifying structural, geotechnical, and environmental parameters.
For over 20 years, BDI's Pavement Instrumentation Design Engineers have worked with the Pavement Research Industry to advance pavement performance monitoring technology. Working with leading Accelerated Test Pavement facilities, Universities, and state DOTs, we have developed a full line of pavement sensors, verified installation procedures, and designed both remote and track-side dynamic data acquisition systems to autonomously trigger data collection and processing. BDI provides instrumentation and services for pavement performance evaluation by providing sensors, monitoring systems and nondestructive evaluation services to help understand pavement performance and under lying support conditions.
Construction and rehabilitation work often requires pre-construction inspections and baseline data collection. Once the project begins, ongoing construction monitoring for changes in existing conditions of surrounding retaining walls, buildings, utilities, and other infrastructure can be performed using manual or automated systems. BDI can provide vibration sensors, robotic total stations, wireless crackmeters, among other instrumentation. We also provide several different construction monitoring QA/QC verification testing methods from simple concrete core tests to rebar verification to in-situ force measurements.
