Concreteworks is a full-service design and fabrication studio specializing in innovative solutions using cast concrete and other cement-based materials. Our pieces combine the newest technologies in our field with cutting-edge design and sustainable building materials. We produce unique artisanal pieces that emphasize the value of quality craftsmanship. We strive to meet the needs of our clients by producing work that reflects our accrued knowledge and our attention to aesthetics. We recognize the needs of our community and our environment by handcrafting our projects locally.
By incorporating specific aggregates, casting techniques and polishing methods, our products can take on a wide variety of finishes, from a nearly mirrored surface to a deeply textured terrazzo. As a handmade product, all finishes maintain a level of variation that is to be considered an inherent characteristic of the material. Our standard finish is achieved by grinding into the surface of cast concrete to expose the internal aggregates. The material is then skimmed over with a cementitious material, filling any voids and air pockets to create a finish that is smooth to the touch.
A very wild project we fabricated for @workshopkitche nlosangeles is being installed. Check out their page for some interesting process shots and progress of the space
As restrictions in the Bay Area begin to loosen, the places we’ve been missing in the past year are starting to feel like not so distant. One of these places we miss is @samovartea. The textures, the smells, the tastes - the complete experience. We can’t wait to be back in this warm space.
Ok, so… you might be thinking… what is MANOS? If you’re a trade professional who has specified our products in the past, you might have a few questions about how things have changed and what this new brand is all about.
