Who We Are Renaissance Builders is a general contractor located in Gill, Massachusetts. We've been around since 1976. Over the years we've built a great reputation for quality, craftsmanship and original thought. What We Do We do residential, commercial and industrial work including new construction, additions and remodeling. We do large jobs and small jobs. Our talented crew and great subcontractors could be the perfect fit for your next project.

A successful home construction or renovation project involves much more than four walls and a roof. This is your home, and you want everything to be done professionally, on budget, and on time. You want to know what's going on throughout the process, and you want to trust the people you allow into your home. At Renaissance Builders, we understand this. We will do our best to guide you through the many steps and decisions that need to be made, to provide clear communication, and to accommodate any special needs you may have.

The key to any successful project is the ability to meet the needs of the client on budget and on time. Many of the commercial projects we do put that to the test, from fast track jobs to jobs with adverse winter conditions, tight shutdown schedules, or puzzling engineering challenges. We have numerous commercial and industrial customers who call us back repeatedly because they know we have the experience and the resources to get the job done the way they need to have it done. Feeding the public comes with it's own set of rules, and you'd better know them if you're working on commercial kitchens.

This custom contemporary home in Northampton is modern in appearance and modern in its low energy consumption as well. Designed by Michael Singer, some of the special features of this house are the exposed steel frame, lots of natural wood, and light coming from unexpected places. A geothermal heating system, energy efficient windows, and radiant heating. We've been incorporating current energy saving details into our homes since we built the model home for Northeast Utilities' Energy Crafted Home Program in 1993.

When your other kitchen is a restaurant kitchen, an old farmhouse kitchen just doesn't measure up. This remodel includes a chef's range, island seating, a butler's pantry and a separate storage pantry. A combination of open and closed storage allows the owners to showcase favorite and frequently used cookware, while keeping the clutter out of. Custom cabinets and granite countertops brought new life to this bright, but otherwise dated, kitchen. A new cased opening between the kitchen and living room create an open feeling, while maintaining room for countertops and cabinets.

This historic house, known locally as Cook's Tavern, had one big drawback - it's in a beautiful location right beside the Connecticut River, but was positioned too low to enjoy the view. The solution that owner Jordi Herold came up with was to raise the structure and build a new foundation beneath it, providing river. The original kitchen in this cape house was small, dark and poorly organized. By taking over the footprint of the mudroom and entry porch we were able to create a light and spacious kitchen, with plenty of room for the many family activities that take place there.

This design/build project had an interesting challenge - to create an inviting entry, a sunroom, backyard access, and a 2 car garage, all within a 28′ limit allowed by site constraints. Code required that we maintain a second story egress window, adding to the challenge. The result meets all the requirements, and blends easily into. When you share your home with active teenage boys, it's nice to have an adults (and dogs) only room, your own Fortress of Solitude. Built above the existing garage, this retreat includes a half bath and private staircase.

What's new?
