Legacy Timber Frames designs, manufactures, and raises custom timber frame structures for residential, agricultural and light commercial construction. We can provide in-house custom design, work with your architect, or recommend an architect familiar with our timber frames. Our frames are hand crafted in our shop and are delivered to the site ready for assembly by our crew. Located near Saratoga Springs, New York, we can provide an erected frame anywhere in the US, but our primary market is the Northeast US.

Legacy Timber Frames, Inc. was established in 1988, incorporated in 1989 and is located near historic Saratoga Springs, New York. Legacy has been designing, producing and erecting custom timber frame structures for over two decades. Our work has appeared in many magazines including American Dream Homes, Timber Frame Homes, Capital Region Building, Builder /Architect, Traditional Builder, Timber Homes Illustrated, American Builder's Quarterly, Veterinary Economics, and Journal of Light Construction as well as regional newspapers and television.

The timber frames we create are versatile and include whole house structures with SIP enclosures, hybrids (which combine timber frame elements with conventional framing), and decorative or structural trusses.

Timber Framing is by definition green building. Wood is a renewable resource and very little machinery is required to transform timbers straight from the mill into a finished timber frame. At Legacy we hand-craft our timber frames and use octagonal oak pegs to join the timbers together-the same time honored building method used by skilled craftsmen for centuries. Timber frame structures are designed to last many generations, where other forms of construction have a much shorter "life span". This means it would take materials and resources for several new homes using other forms of construction to equal the life of a single timber frame home.
