In 1946 Harry Apelian and his two son's Jack and George after returning from the war, decided to open a cleaning and repair business. Cleaning of Oriental Rugs was their specialty. The cleaning business grew into cleaning in the home, both carpet and furniture. In 1965 after many years of dedicated customers, the Apelian's expanded, building a showroom in the front. Introducing a full range of carpeting from many well known mills, wood flooring, ceramic, vinyl tile, and Hundreds of Handmade and Machine made Orientals on display.

Since 1931, Bashian has been a leading importer and creator of fine Oriental of the world. The Bashian name is a recognized benchmark of quality in the rug industry. Not only did Karastan play a big part in introducing American households to the very concept of walking in comfort, they provided the impetus for mass appeal by introducing yet another innovation in 1948: the Kara-Loc® method of weaving.
Established in 1946, Apelian Carpets have been selling floor-covering products to customers throughout the North shore and Chicago land Area. We pride ourselves on the quantity of samples we have to offer. Our showroom offers large samples of major mills in an array of colors. Samples may be taken to look at home and returned within 48 hours at no charge. In other cases, we provide a color swatch for the style you need shipped from our many mills. We are happy to provide these samples at no charge.
