Springfield started as a general construction company in 1985 specializing in northern Michigan roofing. In 30 years, we've evolved based on the needs of our northern Michigan clients. In serving area food processors' roofing needs, we often noticed insulation failure on rooftop pipes and ductwork. When we spoke with facility managers, they said that they needed to replace their mechanical insulation every 5-7 years. So we invented SmartShield, an FDA-approved mechanical insulation that lasts longer and works better. It's a patented covering that blankets the full length of interior and exterior pipes, ducts, and vessels and is welded into an air-tight seal.
