The Borlaug brother's (Mike, Robert, and Don) started in drywall in 1973. Borlaug contracting was formed in 1991 in Aloha Oregon and incorporated in 1995, moving to Hillsboro Oregon in 2002. We have served and continue to serve home owners and general contractors in the Portland metro areas, and South West Washington. When you walk into a store or some other commercial building and look up at the ceiling and see something that looks akin to a tic-tac-toe board, chances are you are looking at a suspended ceiling. It gets its name from the way it is held in place. Some refer to it as an acoustic ceiling, because it contains panels that deaden sound. Another term is T-bar ceiling. The channels that make up the grid that hold the panels in place are T-shaped. The suspended ceiling was originally developed to conceal the underside of the floor above and to offer acoustic balance and control in a room.
