ESS supplies syntactic systems to make vehicles neutrally buoyant. Our products and solutions are designed with the customer in mind and support applications operating just below the surface down to 10,000 meters. The acoustic properties of syntactic foams can be tailored to yield interesting underwater acoustic characteristics. These materials are used in transducer isolators, acoustic windows, anechoic test tank liners, and subsea damping structures. Syntactic foams are intrinsically good insulators because of the extremely high loading of hollow glass spheres.
