Stump's Quality Decks and Porches is a deck contractor that specializes in building long-lasting decks and porches in Lancaster, Lebanon, Berks, and Chester counties. We design and install decks made from pressure treated wood, vinyl/composite, and exotic hardwoods, as well as gazebos, pergolas, sunrooms, and screened-in porches. From the first person we met with to come up with a design, through the communication with scheduling and the building of our deck, we were delighted with Stump's professionalism and attention to detail.

Adding an outdoor living space is an investment in your home and your family's comfort. At Stump's Quality Decks & Porches, we care about both, providing you with a deck that will add value to your home and be a place for building memories for years to come. The quote process begins with a meeting with a project manager who will discuss what you're looking for, share deck design possibilities with you, and show you material options (wood, vinyl, composite, etc.). After that, we'll prepare a detailed proposal and design rendering for you.

Natural wood has been used to build decks for decades. Only more recently has composite materials come along, and even that has wood in it and can fail. But we've found that wood provides consistent performance and durability if cared for properly. Keep in mind that wood will likely have a shorter lifespan than vinly or composite decking, but often lasts long enough to still be a good value for your dollar. Exotic hardwoods are a beautiful choice as a top of the line decking. Nothing matches the beauty and durability of ipe and cumaru from Brazil.

A roof structure or screened enclosure over a new or existing deck is a valuable addition, providing protection against sun, rain, and insects, while adding more aesthetic and resale value than an awning or a gazebo. Remember that a roof structure doesn't have to cover an entire deck. If your deck is large, consider covering only one portion and leaving the remainder uncovered. Besides reducing the price of the project, a partially covered deck allows you to enjoy the sun more on cooler days when the shade isn't needed.

At Stump's Quality Decks & Porches, we help homeowners in southeastern PA transform their outdoor living space through custom-designed, premium decks. Select a service to learn more about options, the design process, and to see recently completed projects. Planning your project will include selecting the right building contractor and determining exactly what type of deck you will have. We want your planning and decision making to be an easy experience. You can rely on our team to answer all of these questions for you and any others you might have.

If you want to keep maintenance to a minimum, we recommend going with either capped composite or capped PVC decking. These products are much better than the original composite decking of 10-20 years ago both in beauty and durability. Today's vinyl and composite decking materials have greatly improved from the earlier composite and PVC products. They come in a variety of colors and textures, and are all warranted against staining and fading. Keep in mind that all decking products will require periodic pressure-washing to keep them looking new.
