Whether you want to improve the comfort in your existing house or make sure that your new New England house meets the highest targets possible, we can look after your energy efficiency needs. If you have a house that's cold and drafty, needs the furnace to run constantly, or has uneven temperatures year round, we can help! Have our team of professional energy auditors assess the energy efficiency of your home using tools such as a blower door test and thermal imaging camera. With a comprehensive energy saving report in hand, our Weatherization Specialists will carry out the recommended measures.

At Yankee Thermal Imaging, we're much more than our name. Since 2008 when we opened shop in Rochester, we've expanded our services but kept a laser-focus on energy efficiency. Today, Yankee Thermal Imaging is a full service energy auditing and insulation firm specializing in your residential and commercial energy savings needs. Still based out of Rochester, we now service all of New Hampshire and southern Maine. Our goal is to provide our customers throughout New Hampshire with practical, affordable home energy consulting and the highest quality energy efficiency upgrades.

It's no secret that high-performance insulation makes a house more comfortable and energy efficient by slowing down the transfer of heat through the walls, ceilings and floors. Homes in New England need to be really good at slowing down heat transfer. Most homes have a higher rate of air leakage than they should have because older construction practices didn't consider heat loss through air leakage. When energy prices were lower, the problem of being too cold (or too hot) in a house was dealt with by adjusting the thermostat until you had enough heat (or enough air conditioning) to keep you comfortable.

In New England, your home needs to protect you from the elements, especially during the winter. Weatherization is the key to protecting your home from the sometimes-harsh outdoors, increasing your comfort and reducing your energy needs. Our weatherization technicians are experts in keeping the elements out. We can do it all, from an all-round safety check to replacing your weatherstripping, right through to comprehensive air sealing and high-performance insulation. At Yankee Thermal Imaging, we know whole house solutions are an important factor in a cost-effective weatherization package.

We made our name in weatherization and home performance throughout New Hampshire. We're making our name in Net Zero Energy and ENERGY STAR for New Homes. Our team understands the "why" of energy efficiency, and provides all of the services homeowners and builders need to make new homes energy efficient, comfortable and healthy. Our full-service team, based out of Rochester, brings experience and professional understanding of energy efficiency to your new home construction project. Building contractors who offer high-performance houses in the ENERGY STAR or Net Zero Energy programs don't always have time to bring insulation and air sealing contractors up to speed.

A blower door test is a crucial part of a home energy assessment. It is key to finding out how your home loses heated or cooled air due to air leakage, and how you find out exactly where drafts are coming from. The Yankee Thermal Imaging auditor testing your Rochester, Concord or Portsmouth-area home will let you know how you can stop the leaks with a full report. Our weatherization and air sealing/insulation teams are at the ready to air seal your house. Air leakage problems cannot be determined by eye, and insulation levels can't always be visually inspected.

Thermal imaging, along with blower door testing, is an important quality control measure when building or renovating a home. Heat loss can account for up to 50% of total energy consumption in a building. When it's cold out and the New England winter winds are howling, your house is losing heat because of air leakage and low or missing insulation. You shiver uncomfortably and your heating system works overtime, but you can't see what's going on in the walls and ceiling, so how can you fix it? All objects and living things (like people) emit infrared (IR) radiation.

New Englanders have a reputation for hardiness, and the climate could be a good reason for that! New England homes need to be as hardy as the people they shelter. Insulation, along with air sealing, is key to making a home comfortable. Improving insulation in an existing house can improve your comfort levels and reduce your energy bills. In New Hampshire, new homes must meet energy code requirements. These requirements are based on DoE recommendations and include not only insulation levels but window, door and heating/cooling components as well.
