Star Environmental Inc. was founded in April 1990 with the primary goal of providing honest and safe asbestos abatement services for Indiana customers. President and founder, Todd Strader, has worked in the environmental services industry since completing his bachelor's in biology at DePauw University in 1987. Prior to incorporating Star, Strader was general manager of one of Indiana's largest asbestos abatement contractors. Recognizing that the industry was evolving, Strader founded Star to satisfy customers' needs for longevity and integrity.
Interior demolition involves non-structural demolishing of an area within a structure. Floor coverings, lights, walls, ceilings, and mechanical systems are typical components encountered in these projects. Potential environmental hazards can be involved in demolition projects. Star leverages its core competency in asbestos, lead paint, and mold abatement to provide a single contractor solution. Star provides compliant, efficient management and removal of our customer's environmental liabilities supported by a $5M pollution liability insurance policy.
Lead is a toxic metal that was used for many years in products found in and around our homes. Lead can also be emitted into the air from motor vehicles and industrial sources and can enter drinking water from plumbing materials. In general, the older your facility or residence, the more likely it has lead-based paint. Lead can be found in facilities in the city, country or suburbs. It can be found in industrial/commercial facilities, apartments, single-family homes, and public housing. Lead may cause a range of health effects, from behavioral problems and learning disabilities to seizures and death.
Institutional and industrial cleaning involves cleaning and maintaining a healthy indoor environment for commercial establishments of all sizes and types, including schools, hospitals, day care centers, food service operations, office complexes, and other similar establishments. As with our other services, workers face a number of hazards. Staff may be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals, asked to work with equipment that can present a danger, or asked to perform various tasks that may cause an injury or illness if not performed properly.
Congratulations to Warren Wallace Sr. for being named the recipient of the “Jason McKinney Memorial Award” for 2020.
