The Cowles Company

The Cowles Company has established itself as a leading residential developer in the greater Memphis area through 18 years of dedicated service. Founded in 1996 by Memphis native Bernard The Cowles Company, our company began as a small construction firm focused on meeting the needs of families and young professionals seeking renovations. Over time, we recognized the value of urban in-fill projects and neighborhood revitalization, particularly in historic districts. This insight guided our transition to specializing in residential homebuilding within iconic Memphis neighborhoods like Cooper-Young, Evergreen, Central Gardens, and Lakeland. Our commitment to quality craftsmanship and community-focused development remains unwavering. We approach each project with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring work is completed correctly and efficiently while preserving the character of historic areas.

Our expertise spans custom home construction, comprehensive remodeling, and demolition services tailored to residential and commercial needs. As a family-owned business, we prioritize personalized service and transparent communication throughout every project phase. Our deep understanding of local market dynamics and historic preservation requirements positions us uniquely to deliver solutions that enhance both property value and neighborhood integrity. With a proven track record in complex revitalization initiatives, we continue to shape Memphis' architectural landscape through innovative yet contextually sensitive development.
