On my first visit to the Emergency Room (Feb. 17) I arrived around 1 p.m. The ER was extremely busy with a massive car pileup on I-35, and numerous issues with individuals falling on ice covered in a layer of fluffy snow. Helping with the wonderful doctors, nurses and receptionists were many from the Mary Greeley administrative team, who were assisting on their day off. I was treated with kindness and respect and care. The techs in the X-ray department as well as those working with the MRI and CAT scan were all professional, and with an all-important sense of humor. Thank you to Dr. Burns, Eric, RN and Aric, RN. You were all terrific and I won't forget how you calmed me on a very scary day. Sending virtual hugs and roses and chocolates your way. When I am healed, you will all get the real thing. Thank you.
I'm in now and all has been fantastic from housekeeping to nursing, food or and Dr. Not one problem. I highly recommend them.
The nursing staff was wonderful. They went above and beyond to meet my needs. The hospitalist that admitted me. She was rude, arrogant and condesending. She did not read the transfer report sent from the other facility. Nor was she interested in what I had to say about why I was transfered there. In general she seemed pissed off I was there. Sorry you had to do your job. I was on the cardiac telemtry floor for a total of 14 hours before being discharged and readmitted to a local hospital. While at mgmc I had no cardiac telemtry for the first five hours even after asking about it repeatedly. My normal routine daily medication was not ordered to be started until tonight after I was discharged. I never did get the cardiology consult I was transfered there for to begin with. I work as a health care provider myself and was and still am extreamly disgusted by the actions and the attitudes of the hospitalist on duty for the evening of july 3. She is a discredit to the profession. My vitals while unstable where checked at admit and discharge only. The staff were great at asking if I needed water or a blanket but were lacking at actually providing medical care. I know many people look at the perks of a hospital like a 5* hotel. I however am more concered with the nedical care or lack there of. I will never return to MGMC for any reason. Even if I have to go a further distance for care I will do that. At least then I know I'll get the medical care I need.
