The Computer Cellar is owned by Daryn O'Shea, who started Triangle Laptops in Charlotte, NC, and then began serving Durham in 2003. Initially the company focused on internet sales of laptop repair parts. However, as the company grew in Durham, the crew found themselves testing, repairing, and rebuilding laptops for internal use, as favors for friends, and eventually for resale. Naturally, they wanted to offer this experience and expertise to the beloved Durham community. In 2010, The Computer Cellar opened in the basement of the historic Couch Building on 9th Street.
At The Computer Cellar, we deal with laptop and desktop computers and, occasionally, other consumer electronics. However, we don't repair tablets or phones. If you're looking for repair services for your iPhone, Android device, Windows moble device, iPad, or other tablet, you might want to try one of these local services.

Update: we are doing a tiered reopening. Some devices have been made available for curbside pickup today. Tomorrow we should be able to do curbside dropoff and pickup after 11 AM. Pending the rest of the staff getting their test results, we anticipate being back to normal on Monday.
Dear customers and friends of the shop - Monday evening one of our employees received a positive COVID test result, despite being asymptomatic and having had no known exposures. As a result, we've temporarily closed the shop while our entire crew is tested. As soon as sufficient staff is cleared,...
