Business hours are Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Specializing in custom design and restoration as well as a full line of stained glass supplies. These custom windows were recently shipped to my customer in Oklahoma. I love working with custom orders because they cause me to consider the customers ideas and incorporate them with my own. The end result is often something I would not have created on my own. It must be something I am willing to etch my signature on, and I certainly did with these.
Stained glass restoration requires a special set of skills. In comparison, it is much like making alterations if you are a seamstress. I begin with a work previously created, sometimes as much as a hundred fifty years ago and bring it back to brilliance and stability. The process includes bringing the stained glass art into the gallery where in many cases it will be totally dismantled and reassembled. In other cases, removing a broken pane of glass is required. Most often re-leading the entire piece is required for stability.
David Akhriev invited me for coffee yesterday to see what he's been doing with all the scrap glass he buys from the shop. The pictures don't do it justice. I was blown away and it was fun to recognize some of my cuts. Inspired to dabble in more mosaics of my own.
Back side finished with brace bars. Won't be able to see it with the light shinning through until installation.
