The appearance of your new stained glass windows, as well as how well your painted replacement windows match, will depend largely upon the skill and style of the artist. All new stained glass windows, whether they are window symbols or figures, begin with the artist's scaled water colored sketch. Since the sketch is water colored, it only approximates the actual stained glass color. Once you approve the sketch, production can begin. The first step is to enlarge the scaled sketch to the actual size of your window.

Light boxes provide an excellent source of on demand lighting for stained glass windows. This article tells how they are made and shows several examples. The church in the image above had their entire nave of stained glass windows installed in light boxes. This beautiful stained glass window crafted by Reinarts Stained Glass Studios for St. Raphael Catholic Church in Crystal, MN, was selected as the cover issue for the Stained Glass Quarterly.

Welcome to Reinarts Stained Glass Studios, a family business located in Winona, MN, which has been creating, restoring and protecting stained glass windows for two generations. We hope you enjoy our new web site. We, as well as our customers, liked the old web site - so much of the information remains the same. The main difference is in the presentation - plus now we're mobile and tablet friendly. I joined the company in 1970 and spent my first 20 years on the road restoring and repairing stained glass windows.
