Chauncey began learning the trade and craft of art glass while growing up, working in the family business. With plans of becoming an architect or engineer, in 1985 Chauncey changed course, taking his natural skill and creative abilities in art, design and engineering and applied it within the field of art glass. Today, together with his wife LeeAnn, Chauncey and his team of highly skilled artisans and glaziers, have earned a well established name and reputation for Sans Soucie.

Sans Soucie Art Glass has been creating the highest quality custom etched and frosted glass designs for glass coffee tables and custom glass table tops available in the industry since 1976. All hand drawn, custom designs, glass etching is achieved by sandblasting the design into the glass. Using various techniques, every design comes in a variety of effects, each creating a unique look that provides different levels of privacy and price. The design can be applied by merely "light" etching it into the surface only, OR it can be sculpture carved deep into the glass, creating a relief texture.

Glass shelves add an elegant touch and come highly custom at Sans Soucie! From small shelves for the bathroom to larger glass shelving for display areas or bars, carved edges that capture the eye can be created through hand-chiseled shapes and carved textures in unlimited designs. In most cases, the thickness for glass shelving will be 3/8" or 1/2", but 1/4" and 3/4" is also available as specified. Glass can be tempered for extra strength as needed. As with all glass products by Sans Soucie, designs are unlimited and there's a variety of effects that can be done, depending on your design style and budget.

With no limit to shape, size or style, Sans Soucie creates stunning glass backsplashes made to coordinate with any decor, for kitchen or bath. Glass is back painted in limitless colors. Edges can be straight, polished for a contemporary look to fit the area. Edges can be lit, which illuminates the entire glass area, adding a stunning dramatic effect. Edges can also be hand-cut to form irregular, freeform shapes. Irregular edges are formed by hand by our skilled artists who literally break and chip the edge of the glass, inch by inch, all across one edge.

Glass thickness for glass countertops and counters will be 3/4 for most applications. For some glass counters, a thickness of 3/8" or 1/2" may be used. Sans Soucie creates exquisite designs that are 3D sculpture carved into the glass edge, or applied to the underside of the glass - anything is possible! Where strength is needed for glass that will extend or be extra weight-bearing, the glass will be tempered or even laminated for strength when needed. Known for our unique custom edges and irregular shapes, edge designs are seen on other glass products in our online galleries like the top edges of glass showers and partitions can be applied to any glass counter.
