Door Store

Welcome to the Door Store - We are a small, family run furniture store with an on-site workshop. We specialize in desks, tables and shelving. You can construct your own furniture from our components and with our workshop we can customize your order if necessary. In addition to desks, tables and shelving, we also carry chairs, baskets, window shades, Japanese lanterns, and Shoji screens. The Door Store Cambridge is NOT affiliated with any other Door Store - we do not sell the same products, nor do we have access to them.

The Door Store is a small, family run store where you design your own furniture with our components. Our large on-site inventory allows us to fill orders quickly. We also have a workshop in the basement if you need to customize your order. The Door Store started in Greenwich Village in New York City in 1953 and has been in its current location since 1971. In many ways we still operate as we did 50 years ago – relationships drive the business. Every customer is different and we tailor our solutions to them.

Most furniture at the Door Store is based on components. Components are pieces that you pick from to design your own desk, table or shelving system. Our components include tops in many sizes, legs, bases like trestles and center pedestals, file cabinets, keyboard trays and pencil drawers. We also have a workshop in the basement and can customize your order if necessary. The pages on this site will help you understand what you have to choose from and how they go together. The Door Store allows you to pick from a series of components to design your own shelving systems. A good option for free-standing shelving are our made-to-order shelving units. We have a variety of boards in different sizes that can be cut and fastened together to make many different types of bookcases, cd/dvd holders & cabinets. Prices vary, please have dimensions with you and one of our experienced staff members will help you design your perfect shelf unit. 2. If you are looking for shelving and desire a more open style, our dowel units may be your solution.
