SUTRAK began in Germany in the 1970's with the innovation and worldwide patent award for roof mounted HVAC systems. This technology became so popular that it is still the dominant global design for transit buses today. Since 1981, SUTRAK has manufactured bus and rail HVAC systems for North American customers from its U.S. headquarters in Colorado. In 1996, the company sold international divisions, but retained the North American market in private ownership. Work began on the next generation technology and today the company's legacy of innovation continues with "ACE" (Air Conditioning Electric) for transit bus and rail applications.
