The founding partners of 12th Avenue Iron, Stephen Marks and Mark Christiansen, joined forces in 2004 and have since grown the company into a team of ten full-time metal artists and craftsmen. We design, build, and install custom architectural metalwork, sculpture, and furniture for commercial, residential, and public environments. Our clients include architects and designers, builders, corporations, universities, private customers, and public artists. We specialize in large-scale projects requiring unique engineering solutions and ingenious approaches to fabrication and joinery, working with a wide variety of metals that include steel, stainless steel, bronze, copper and aluminum.
The Tom Kundig Collection is a steel accessory line focused on intimately scaled hardware components. Each piece celebrates the moments when people become kinetically involved with the buildings and spaces they inhabit. They stand as a tribute to the beauty and pragmatism of nature, from the raw materials we use to build to the way the human body is designed to move - the rational and the poetic. The Kundig-designed collection consists of over one hundred unique cut-and-folded steel products ranging from cabinet and door pulls to rollers and tables.
