Laminated glass is designed to maximize safety while providing optimal clarity. Two panels of tempered glass are bonded to a vinyl interlayer to provide extra rigidity under stress. While normal tempered glass shatters under high stress or impacts, the vinyl interlayer on laminated glass is integral in keeping the panels together if broken.
