A kitchen renovation for an active family offered the opportunity to expand the room into the back yard with the addition of an exterior porch. An eating area with glass on three sides connects the kitchen to the pool and patio areas beyond. An over-sized island in the center of the kitchen provides a place for food preparation, casual eating, and kid's homework.

Built on an in-town lot in Princeton, this new modern house is designed to provide single level living, with guest rooms on the second floor. The open plan living/dining area features an expansive wall of glass with a monumental sliding door opening to an enclosed rear yard. Clean, modern interior spaces are enhanced by a carefully selected palette of materials and colors. Durable, maintenance-free exterior materials include stucco and thermally-modified ash wood siding. A hydronic radiant floor heating system provides comfortable heat throughout the first floor.
