Studio 2LR is working with the Montessori School of Columbia to design a 2,500 SF Net Zero Learning Lab building. The design incorporates advanced framing techniques and continuous insulation to provide an energy efficient building envelope coupled with LED lighting and a high efficiency mechanical system to reduce overall energy use. A photovoltaic panel system is designed to offset all of the energy usage of the building over the course of the year. The new structure will be located in the heart of the Montessori School of Columbia campus and will provide classroom space for teaching science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
