Scott Wilson Architect LLC is a boutique architect firm located in Franklin, Tennessee. Since it's beginning in 1986 the focus of the firm has been based on the belief that great architecture responds to client needs in a manner respectful of its neighbors. The firm designs modern buildings which embrace traditional principles of architecture to provide intimate spaces in which to live and work. Energy efficiency, reduced maintenance and environmentally sensitive strategies have been an integral part of this approach.
Prior to becoming an Nashville architect, I spent time in various construction jobs which gave me practical construction experience, and an understanding of how to communicate with the craftspeople who build my designs. I feel that every client is unique and every project should be too. After listening to my clients and becoming comfortable that I understand their goals, I challenge them to consider options until we create the design that works best for them. We explore how to approach the building and it's relationship to the site.

Visitor centers are vital to the success of an historic site.
Our Nashville homes personify who we are in a physical structure that we share with the world. Our homes express our physical needs emotional desires and our dreams, making the design process dependent on a strong, personal collaboration between Architect and Client. Building green or sustainable can be simple or complex. Third party certifications such as LEED, Earthcraft or NAHB Green can lend credibility as well as provide a means of determining if a project's goals have been accomplished. While technology can play a role in green building, many lessons from our past can be just as effective without the impact of added expense.
