The Foundation Architects

Based in the North Loop of Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Foundation Architects was established in 1994 with the belief that architects work in the service of their clients. We take time to get to know you, personally. We pride ourselves on being a small firm; we don't chase around designing stadiums and skyscrapers. We closely collaborate with small business clients and homeowners creating customized, personal design solutions. We have developed a local and regional reputation and expertise designing unique, personalized dental clinics.

The schematic design starts with an initial code review. By establishing code requirements, at the beginning of the process, we can avoid potentially costly code-required revisions. Foundation Architects does a series of rough drawings known as schematic designs, concept sketches, or bubble diagrams. These sketches illustrate the general arrangement of the rooms and site. Depending on the project, we may also make digital models of the design to help participants better visualize it. These sketches are not final drawings.

Bob has been a licensed architect and member of the American Institute of Architects since 1987. He also is a certified interior designer and a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited professional). His bachelor's degree in Architectural Studies is from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign, one of the world's leading institutions for architectural education. Bob loves to work directly with clients to develop unique, personal and affordable solutions that exceed their expectations.
