Salazar Architect creates public interest designs that are rich in character and affordable to build. Our mission-driven approach integrates community and sustainable design methods with a deep understanding of how materials, forms, and systems affect the well-being of communities.

Salazar Architect is a public interest design firm structured around three Design Labs: Community Design, Well-being Design and Sustainable Design. We empower staff to spend up to 10% of their time in the Lab, advancing the firm's knowledge through best practices research, pro-bono design work and educational conferences. The Labs also review each project periodically, at times appropriate to the design process. Staff from each Lab form our project teams, ensuring that the Lab's knowledge is incorporated into our design work.
