Home & Gardens started in 1989 by Michael Martorana with a love of plants and a volunteer spirit. Longwood Gardens accepted him as the first volunteer in Longwood's Integrated Pest Management department. During his 8 years of work and study there, he was awarded the "Certificate of Merit in Ornamental Plants". From there, he earned his ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborist designation. In March, 2019, a cooperation developed with the BARTLETT TREE EXPERT COMPANY. As demand for experts in tree health & diagnostics grew, an education through Penn State, the University of Delaware and Cornell provided the extensive knowledge needed to provide cutting edge diagnostic and treatment skills.
