Recycling services
Our recycling programs accept various materials through curbside collection and drop-off locations. The 2021 opening of our Material Recovery Facility expanded our capabilities to process recyclables more effectively. We educate residents on proper sorting and maintain updated guidelines for acceptable materials, helping Polk County residents reduce landfill waste while maximizing resource recovery.
Hazardous waste management
We offer safe disposal options for household hazardous waste through dedicated drop-off locations. Our specialized facilities handle materials like chemicals, electronics, and other non-standard waste items that require careful processing. This service protects both public safety and environmental quality by preventing improper disposal of dangerous substances.
Yard waste collection
Seasonal yard waste collection services help residents manage leaves, grass clippings, and garden debris. We provide curbside pickup schedules and drop-off options at designated facilities. Our program includes annual initiatives like the Holiday Used Toy Drive and educational resources about proper organic waste management practices.
Environmental education
We deliver educational initiatives about proper waste disposal and recycling practices. Through our website, newsletter, and community events, we provide resources on waste reduction strategies, collection schedules, and environmental impact.
