Since 2009, Tree Shepherds has provided professional, certified full-service tree care for residents of Denton County. The Tree Shepherds team of arborists is led by ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, Scott Geer. Each member of the team is fully insured and trained to meet the highest standards of professional conduct and safety in the tree care industry.

Residential consultations begin with a visit to the home or property. Our ISA Certified Arborist inspects your tree and its environment. Questions will be asked regarding the past and present care of the tree. Based on the findings, and the goals of the homeowner, the arborist will offer a tree care plan that best promotes the tree's health and longevity. All of our consulting arborists are ISA Certified, and are "trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of arboriculture." Certification includes 30 hours of continuing education and must be renewed every three years.

Regular trimming and pruning is important to a tree's health. Removing deadwood and problematic growth structures can enhance vigor and increase longevity. Our arborists trim and prune to maintain a tree's natural shape while meeting the needs of our clients. This practice requires an understanding of tree species and tree biology. Trees that are trimmed and pruned regularly are not only healthy, they also have greater aesthetic appeal.

The ISA certified arborists at Tree Shepherds take great care to preserve the natural shape of your land while removing shrubs, trees and stumps. We clear your property so that you can develop it according to your specific needs. Our clearing crews are equipped and trained to remove large trees that might be dead or dangerously positioned near buildings or power lines. Stumps and invasive shrubs are cleared with minimal alterations to the land. When the job is complete, new plants and trees will have a fresh environment in which to thrive.

In urban settings, trees are forced to grow in conditions which often lack naturally occurring nutrients important to vigor and good health. Fallen leaves, for example, are usually removed before they can decay. Decaying leaves and other organic matter supply roots with essential nutrients and microbes that help rebuild the soil. This helps to keep your tree's root system healthy. ISA Certified Arborists at Tree Shepherds design fertilization schedules according to your tree's needs. Call us today to set up an appointment to have your tree and landscape inspected by a Plant Health Care expert.

There are many ways to rid your landscape of a tree stump. The most efficient and less intrusive way is to grind a portion of the stump into sawdust and mulch. The sawdust and mulch is then left in place to decompose or it can be replaced with dirt. Tree Shepherds uses professional-grade machines to grind and remove stumps. Our machines are equipped to remove a stump completely, efficiently in a minimal amount of time with less clean up. Tree Shepherds is locally and family owned. We ensure high quality tree care that supports the long-term health, structure, and beauty of your trees.

Call Tree Shepherds to have one of our certified arborists come out and inspect your tree. If possible, we will do all that we can to restore your tree to health. When a tree does need to be removed, customers can count on positive, friendly crews that are efficient, clean and conscientious about their surroundings. When power lines are within close proximity, we work with local utility companies and city authorities to ensure that proper protocols are followed and everyone's safety is protected.

Just had the Tree Shepherd crew out to clean up all of my trees including my sick cedar elm. These guys worked like a well oiled machine. Clearly, they know what they are doing. I would highly recommend Scott Geer, Clayton and his team! As Claire said, "This company ROCKS!"
